What You’ll Do:
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Software Architect to support the strategic modernization of our application stack as we scale our client's global money transfer platform. Working under the direction of the Senior Software Architect, Sr. Director of Software Engineering, and Chief Technology Officer, you will help define and implement a modern, front-end & backed-end, cloud-native architecture aligned with our goals for global scalability, resilience, and multi-tenant extensibility. This role is central to enabling our platform to scale globally, integrate with a wide range of partners, and deliver secure, high-performance digital financial services. You’ll work closely with engineering, infrastructure, security, product, and business stakeholders to execute this vision.

Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
  • Architecture & Modernization
    • Contribute to the architectural roadmap focused on re-platforming legacy systems to modern, scalable microservices.
    • Design and document distributed system patterns using .NET Aspire, .NET Core, Angular 19, and Azure Native Services.
    • Assist in defining target state architecture, migration strategies, and modernization priorities in close alignment with senior technical leadership.
    • Promote Clean Architecture principles, CQRS, Domain-Driven Design (DDD), Test Driven Development, and high-availability system design.
    • Collaborate on the target state architecture and lead modernization efforts of legacy on premise applications (hosted on IIS) to Azure cloud-native services.
    • Create documentation, diagrams, and implementation guides to support the engineering organization.
  • Cloud-Native Platform Development
    • Help architect systems for deployment on Azure using Container Apps, App Services, Service Bus, Azure Functions, Key Vault, API Management, Containerization and more.
    • Guide the development of cloud-native APIs that are secure, discoverable, resilient, and version-controlled.
    • Implement caching, observability, and async processing patterns using Redis and Azure native tools.
  • Globalization, Multi-Tenant & API Strategy
    • Support the design of a multi-tenant, multi-product, and multi-language platform that meets regulatory, localization, and customization requirements across regions.
    • Contribute to the delivery of APIs that power omni-channel experiences across web, mobile, chatbots and partner integrations.
    • Ensure platform flexibility to enable easy enablement/disablement of features based on region, partner, or product needs.
    • Design APIs as products, built for external consumption, discoverability (Swagger/OpenAPI/Scalar), and maintainability.
  • Engineering Collaboration & Enablement
    • Work closely with software engineering teams to implement architectural patterns, coding standards, and shared services.
    • Participate in architecture reviews, solution design workshops, and hands-on prototyping as needed.
    • Provide technical mentorship and documentation to accelerate the team’s adoption of modernization goals.
  • Cloudflare Integration & Security
    • Design and implement Cloudflare for global DNS management, API protections, anti bot mechanisms, rate-limiting, caching, and web application firewall (WAF) rules.
    • Ensure performance optimization and global resiliency through edge network configurations.
    • Collaborate with security teams to integrate Cloudflare protections as part of the platform's defense-in-depth strategy.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration
    • Partner with engineering teams to ensure seamless implementation of architectural patterns and modernization goals.
    • Participate in design reviews, solution validation, prototyping, and mentoring of development teams.
    • Work closely with Product Managers and UX/UI designers to ensure technical feasibility and alignment with business goals.
  • Frontend Architecture & Modern Web Frameworks
    • Provide architectural direction and best practices for modern Single Page Applications
    • (SPAs) with deep expertise in Angular (v15+).
    • Lead the design and implementation of micro-frontend architectures that enable modular, scalable, and independently deployable UI components.
    • Partner with UX/UI teams to ensure accessibility, localization, and seamless user experience across multi-platform channels.
  • Database Modernization & Performance Optimization
    • Lead the modernization of legacy databases to support distributed, cloud-native architectures.
    • Collaborate with developers and DBAs on database schema design, modeling, normalization, and partitioning strategies for scalable data access.
    • Drive performance tuning practices including indexing, query optimization, and workload analysis for high-throughput scenarios.
    • Establish best practices around database source control, including automation of schema deployments through pipelines, and versioning strategies using tools like SQL Server Data Tools (SSDT), Flyway, or Liquibase.
What You’ll Need:
  • 8+ years of software development experience, with at least 3+ years in architecture or technical leadership roles.
  • Deep expertise in .NET Core (8/9 preferred) and experience in architecting
  • microservices.
  • Strong background in Azure ecosystem: Azure Container Apps, App Services,
  • Functions, Service Bus, Application Insights, API Management, and DevOps pipelines.
  • Experience building distributed systems with modern patterns like event-driven
  • architecture, message queues, and async communication.
  • Understanding of modern DevOps practices, infrastructure-as-code (YAML,
  • Bicep/Terraform), and automated testing.
  • Experience modernizing on-prem application stack to cloud 
  • Strong background in Docker containerization
Set Yourself Apart With:
  • Experience in financial services or payments platforms (e.g., fin-tech, payment
  • processing, payment gateway, money transfer, KYC, AML).
  • Familiarity with global-ready architectures including i18n, regional compliance, and multi-currency handling.
  • Knowledge of Datadog or other APM/observability tools.
  • Bilingual (Spanish preferred) to support regional collaboration and documentation needs.
