What You’ll Do:
The Automation Test Engineer will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining comprehensive automated test frameworks supporting both front-end and back-end systems. This role focuses on validating complex data flows across JBoss applications, databases, and external integrations, ensuring accuracy, reliability, and performance of mission-critical applications. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with automation scripting, CI/CD integration, and validation of batch processes and file-based data exchanges in enterprise environments.
Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
- Design, develop, and maintain automated test frameworks for:
- UI applications (React / Angular)
- Batch processes (Spring Batch, shell scripts, cron jobs)
- File-based integrations (SFTP, CSV, XML, JSON)
- Validate end-to-end data flows between JBoss applications, PostgreSQL/Oracle databases, and external SFTP systems.
- Automate testing for cron-triggered batch schedules, verifying job startup, completion, and error-handling behavior.
- Implement validation logic for input/output directories, file naming conventions, record counts, and data accuracy.
- Collaborate with developers and DevOps teams to verify job logs, server console outputs, and error traces on Linux servers.
- Integrate automation into CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or AWS CodePipeline).
- Develop reusable scripts using Python, Java, or Shell for log parsing, SFTP validation, and test orchestration.
- Create and maintain test reports, dashboards, and alerts for overnight or scheduled batch runs.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, retrospectives, and daily stand-ups.
- Support production validation and release readiness testing for JBoss-deployed WAR packages.
- 5+ years of experience in automated testing across UI, batch, and data integration environments.
- Strong knowledge of test automation frameworks (JUnit, TestNG, PyTest, or equivalent).
- Hands-on experience with Python, Java, or Shell scripting for automation and validation tasks.
- Experience validating batch jobs, cron schedules, and file transfers (SFTP, CSV, XML, JSON).
- Proficiency in Linux/Unix environments and familiarity with analyzing job and server logs.
- Strong understanding of databases (PostgreSQL or Oracle) and data validation using SQL queries.
- Familiarity with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or AWS CodePipeline.
- Experience working with JBoss / WildFly application servers.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related discipline.
- Experience working in federal or healthcare environments with high compliance requirements.
- Proficiency with test management and reporting tools (e.g., Jira, Zephyr, Xray, Allure).
- Experience in API testing using Postman, RestAssured, or Karate.
- Familiarity with containerized environments (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Experience with Python
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with attention to detail and process consistency.
