What You’ll Do:
We are seeking a detail-oriented Manual QA Tester (Mid) to validate web-based UI applications and backend APIs through structured test design and execution. This role partners closely with Product Owners, Developers, and DevOps to ensure quality throughout an Agile SDLC, including test planning, defect lifecycle management, and basic-to-intermediate root cause analysis. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with manual UI testing, REST API validation, and clear documentation of defects, evidence, and test results.
Responsibilities
Execute manual functional, regression, smoke, exploratory, and end-to-end testing for web UI applications.
Validate UI workflows, data integrity, cross-browser behavior, and expected user experience against acceptance criteria.
Perform manual REST API testing to validate request/response contracts, status codes, error handling, and data consistency.
Verify UI-to-API integration flows and backend integrations for end-to-end functionality.
Create, maintain, and execute test cases/test scenarios aligned to user stories and requirements; identify coverage gaps.
Produce test execution reports and communicate status, risks, and blockers during iterations/sprints.
Create high-quality defect tickets with reproducible steps, expected vs. actual results, severity/priority, and supporting evidence.
Track defects through triage, fix verification, regression validation, and closure; collaborate with developers on resolution.
Support basic-to-intermediate RCA to isolate issues across UI, API, data, environment, or configuration.
Participate in Agile ceremonies (refinement, planning, standups, reviews, retrospectives) and contribute to testability early.
Qualifications
2–5 years of manual QA/testing experience (or equivalent training/experience).
Hands-on experience testing web UI applications and validating REST APIs (JSON).
Practical experience working in Agile (Scrum/Kanban) with user stories and acceptance criteria.
Strong skills in test case design, execution, results tracking, and risk-based testing.
Strong defect management skills: writing clear reproduction steps, attaching evidence, and managing the defect lifecycle.
Familiarity with Jira, Azure DevOps, or similar test/defect tracking tools.
Working knowledge of HTTP fundamentals (methods, headers, status codes), JSON payloads, and common auth patterns (basic/token/OAuth concepts).
Nice to have: healthcare insurance/benefits domain exposure, basic DB validation, accessibility testing awareness (WCAG), and familiarity with TestRail/Zephyr/Xray.
