What You’ll Do:
As the Mainframe Security Engineer, you’ll bring a deep expertise in mainframe security software, encryption technologies, and a strong background in developing Role-Based Access Control frameworks.
Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
Mainframe Security Configuration:
- Leverage expertise in mainframe security software, including IBM-RACF (Resource Access Control Facility) and ACF2, to configure and optimize ESM settings.
- Spearhead the implementation and enhancement of Role-Based Access Control (RBAC) frameworks tailored to organizational needs.
Encryption and Security Controls:
- Demonstrate an advanced understanding of encryption technologies, protocols, and best practices, specifically in the context of mainframe environments.
- Configure security controls for volumes, datasets, and other subsystems such as DB2, IMS, and CICS.
- Lead the implementation of digital certificates, managing the entire certificate lifecycle from issuance to revocation.
- Apply expertise with z/OS Encryption APIs and configure the usage of Crypto cards to bolster security.
- Apply specialized knowledge in database technology, focusing on DB2 (preferred) and SQL, to implement robust security controls and configurations.
IBM zSecure Security Products:
- Leverage experience with IBM zSecure security products to fortify the overall mainframe security posture.
- Provide insights and recommendations for optimizing the usage of zSecure tools.
Programming and Scripting:
- Utilize programming skills, particularly in REXX or any relevant programming language, to automate security processes and enhance efficiency.
What You’ll Need:
- US Citizenship or Green Card status required.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field. Master's degree is a plus.
- Extensive experience in mainframe security, including configuration and optimization of ESM settings (IBM-RACF, ACF2).
- Proven expertise in developing and implementing Role-Based Access Control frameworks.
- In-depth knowledge of encryption technologies and security concepts specific to mainframe environments.
- Experience configuring security controls for volumes, datasets, and various subsystems (DB2, IMS, CICS).
- Hands-on experience with the implementation and management of digital certificates.
- Familiarity with z/OS Encryption APIs and usage/configuration of Crypto cards.
- Proficiency in database technology, especially DB2 (preferred) and SQL.
- Experience with IBM zSecure security products.
- Strong programming skills in REXX or any relevant programming language is a plus.
