What You’ll Do:
Navitas is seeking a highly skilled SAFe Agile Project Manager to support the Maryland Benefits program by leading cross-functional project teams in the execution of mission-critical initiatives. This role will support the delivery and modernization of applications, infrastructure, data services, and operational support systems. The selected candidate will be responsible for end-to-end project leadership in a SAFe Agile environment, ensuring alignment with stakeholder expectations, governance standards, and budget targets.
Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
- Project Leadership & Delivery
- Oversee and manage the complete project lifecycle: Initiation, Planning, Execution, Monitoring & Control, and Closure.
- Lead project scoping and chartering efforts, including stakeholder engagement and goal setting.
- Develop and maintain detailed project plans using VersionOne, Jira, and other Agile PM tools.
- Manage interdependencies, schedules, risks, issues, and action items across a portfolio of projects.
- Agile Facilitation & Governance
- Facilitate SAFe Agile ceremonies, including:
- Product Backlog Creation
- PI (Program Increment) Planning
- Sprint Planning, Demos, and End-to-End PI Demos
- Daily Scrum Calls
- Retrospectives
- Collaborate closely with product owners, development teams, QA, and operations to ensure successful and timely delivery.
- Stakeholder & Communication Management
- Conduct regular meetings with business, technical, and peer teams.
- Prepare and distribute weekly status reports and bi-weekly updated risk registers.
- Communicate progress, risks, and budget forecasts to leadership and stakeholders, maintaining transparency.
- Documentation & Reporting
- Develop and deliver key project documentation, including:
- Project Charters
- Risk and Issue Logs
- Budget Tracking Reports (with planned vs. actual variance)
- Closure Reports and Lessons Learned
- Training Manuals and End-User Documentation
- Business Process & Systems Support
- Participate in business process reengineering efforts, including diagramming workflows.
- Lead the collection and documentation of user/system requirements via User Stories.
- Support system design documentation and ensure alignment with enterprise architecture.
- Oversee development of user training materials and support end-user training sessions.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Information Systems, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in enterprise-level project management, with at least 3 years in Agile/SAFe environments.
- Proficient in VersionOne and other Agile tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence).
- Strong experience with Agile delivery frameworks, sprint/PI planning, backlog management, and team coordination.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
- Demonstrated experience in managing scope, schedule, and budget across complex IT projects.
- SAFe Certification (e.g., SAFe Agilist or SAFe Scrum Master).
- PMP, CSM, or equivalent project management certifications.
- Experience working with government or public sector clients.
- Familiarity with infrastructure modernization, data services, and enterprise systems integration.
