What You’ll Do:
The Senior Ontology Expert / Project Manager will lead and deliver complex technical projects within the DoD ontology and knowledge‑engineering domain. This role requires deep expertise in ontology development, semantic data integration, and geospatial/all‑source analytic environments, combined with strong project management and systems engineering capabilities. The ideal candidate excels at coordinating multidisciplinary teams, managing technical deliverables, and ensuring alignment with DoD mission requirements, standards, and timelines.
Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
- Lead and manage complex technical projects focused on ontology development, knowledge graph integration, and semantic data solutions supporting DoD geospatial and all‑source analysis.
- Oversee project planning, execution, risk management, and delivery of high‑quality technical outputs.
- Apply SysEngOps and DevSecOps practices to ensure secure, efficient, and repeatable development workflows.
- Manage version control, branching strategies, and CI/CD pipelines to support continuous integration and deployment of ontology‑driven capabilities.
- Coordinate with stakeholders, technical teams, and mission partners to ensure project alignment with DoD data standards and operational needs.
- Utilize Python, R, SQL/NoSQL, PostgreSQL, and ESRI tools (ArcGIS/ArcPy) to support data modeling, analysis, and integration tasks.
- Apply PMP, CSM, and CSEP methodologies to structure project execution, sprint planning, systems engineering processes, and quality assurance.
- Provide technical leadership in semantic modeling, ontology alignment, and integration of structured and unstructured data sources.
- Ensure documentation, reporting, and deliverables meet DoD compliance, security, and performance requirements.
- Master’s degree or higher (e.g., Ph.D.) in Systems Engineering, Project Management, Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration, Engineering Management, or a closely related field; or a minimum of 11+ years of experience managing complex technical projects.
- Demonstrated experience in:
- Ontology development and semantic technologies
- Knowledge graph integration
- Managing technical teams and project deliverables
- Strong background in SysEngOps, DevSecOps, version control systems (e.g., Git), and CI/CD pipelines.
- Proficiency with:
- Python and R
- SQL/NoSQL databases
- PostgreSQL
- ESRI tools (ArcGIS/ArcPy)
- Experience applying PMP, CSM, and CSEP processes in technical project environments.
- Strong analytical skills, communication abilities, and experience collaborating with cross‑functional and mission‑focused teams.
