What You’ll Do:

We are seeking a results-oriented Application Development Manager to lead our application modernization journey on Microsoft Azure for one of our FinTech customers. This role combines product ownership, delivery management, and technical leadership to transform legacy systems into modern, cloud-native applications.
You will oversee cross-functional teams (Frontend, Backend, DevOps, QA, Data) and drive the delivery of scalable, secure, and high-performance applications. As the link between business and engineering, you will define priorities, lead modernization initiatives, and ensure successful adoption of microservices, Kubernetes, and Azure-native services.

Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
  • Own and execute the application modernization roadmap, re-platforming legacy systems into Azure cloud-native services.
  • Drive adoption of microservices architecture, containerization, and Kubernetes (AKS) for scalability and resilience.
  • Define and implement modernization patterns including API-first design, micro-frontends, serverless components, and event-driven processing.
  • Oversee migration of applications, APIs, and data services from on-premise to Azure.
  • Translate business objectives into actionable product backlogs and modernization milestones.
  • Prioritize features and technical enablers, balancing customer needs, scalability, and compliance.
  • Oversee delivery of modular, multi-tenant, and high-availability platforms.
  • Track and report KPIs including velocity, release frequency, platform adoption, and system resilience.
  • Drive modernization of data services, ensuring scalable and optimized SQL and NoSQL solutions.
  • Oversee integration of Azure Data Services (SQL Database, Synapse, Data Lake) into application strategy.
  • Enable secure, governed data exchange between microservices and external partners through APIs.
  • Promote observability and real-time monitoring with Azure Monitor, Application Insights, and Log Analytics.
  • Introduce emerging Azure technologies, including analytics, and automation frameworks, to accelerate business value.
  • Reduce technical debt while optimizing costs through modernization and cloud efficiencies.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement, experimentation, and innovation.
  • Evangelize modernization initiatives across business and technology stakeholders.
What You’ll Need:
  • 10+ years in application development with 4+ years in a leadership/management role.
  • Strong background in Azure-native services, AKS (Kubernetes), and microservices-based architectures.
  • Proven experience leading application modernization programs and re-platforming efforts.
  • Knowledge of enterprise integration, API management, and event-driven systems.
  • Strong understanding of data services, database modernization, and performance optimization.
  • Excellent leadership, stakeholder management, and communication skills.
  • Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish to support collaboration across global teams and regional stakeholders.
Set Yourself Apart With:
  • Experience in financial services, fintech, or other high-availability, compliance-driven industries.
  • Familiarity with multi-tenant, global-ready application strategies.
  • Exposure to Azure AI, Synapse, and Data Lake for application-data integration.
  • Background in Agile product management and KPI-driven delivery.
